Traditional Pub

A large group of us visited for a family birthday celebration on a busy Sunday in January with an age range of baby to mid 80’s! The 8 hour slow cooked lamb was absolutely delicious, by far the best Roast I have had in the area. There was so much food, really good value for money, lovely selection of fresh veg, all the meals were piping hot, not easy for 14 people! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The staff were really friendly, helpful and attentive throughout the meal. There was an open fire in the main bar giving it a really cosy feel. I revisited with my husband this week and had the Duo of Guinea Fowl, again, very high quality food and service, really impressed with this lovely country pub.
Would highly recommend, but definitely need to book!!

Service was superb friendly not to formal nothing was a problem a delight very attentive the dog was welcome! Bar service was amazing a selection of ales served straight from the barrels behind the bar. Unbelievable new menus multiple choices from pub classics to fine dining a la carte all at very reasonable prices will be back to try more can’t believe it a real gem.

Stopped off at this lovely looking pub on the off chance of having some lunch. Staff soo welcoming, friendly & accommodating. Lovely & quaint inside, very clean too. For drinks, we opted for a pint of lager ( local stuff- Calvors Helles) & a pint of bitter (Adnams Southwold Bitter). Was not disappointed. The lager was better than branded lager, would opt for that every time, good price too & delicious, the bitter was good too. For lunch we had steak burger & chips. Food was amazingly delicious. Everything cooked to perfection. Hope we are in that neck of the woods again just so we can go back there.

The Swan was extremely well run by the previous tennants and I am pleased to say that this trend has continued with the new ones. Over the late May Bank Holiday the pub hosted a large beer festival and although real ale is ‘not my thing’ there was plenty to enjoy in terms of music, food and their nomal choice of drinks. A lovely atmosphere rewarded with a large turn out and an extremely well organised event. The Swan manages to keep the balance between a Pub and a restaurant. Good friendly staff.
